News - National Apprenticeships Week

4th March 2014

This week is National Apprenticeships Week and according to the DWP, the average Apprenticeship completer could increase business productivity by £214 per week.

The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) state that there has never been a better time to employ an apprentice. Apprenticeships are boosting productivity by enabling businesses to grow their skills base. The average Apprenticeship completer could increase business productivity by £214 per week, with these gains including increased profits, lower prices and better products.

Apprentices are paid at least the relevant minimum wage and training costs are covered for many apprentices. If you’re a business that employs up to 1000 employees, you may even get a £1,500 grant to help cover the cost of starting a new apprentice aged 16 to 24 years old.

Here at Numerus Payroll Services we have recently appointed an apprentice within our growing department. We are finding his enthusiasm a real asset and we are taking satisfaction in providing learning development.
